NORWAY Ski and Boat

Another approach to ski and moutain

I suggest a ski-touring trip in the Lyngen Alps, in the north of Norway, mixing sea, boat and mountain.

From the boat, which is equipped with all possible comforts and will serve as our base, we will be able to reach land and link fjords by traversing the mountains on skis.

The landscape is just extraordinary, and the contrast between sea and mountain will make the trip very special.

Calm and solitude come with the territory. Let yourself be tempted.

                                Skiing conditions

The snow is always excellent, thanks to low and stable temperatures.

March and April are probably the best period for skiing.

We will be starting from sea level and ski-touring up to between 600 and 1700m (2000 - 5600ft). Once back down on the beach, we can shed our skis and hop in the zodiac to return to the boat, for a nice hot soup.

Even if the weather is uncertain, we can ski in the most beautiful birch forests, on moderate slopes.

Life on the boat

For this trip, I have selected a magnificent twin-masted sailboat made from teck.

It is as warm as a good refuge, with all the space and the comfort that are indispensable at these latitudes.
